Kéthetente találkozunk, általában vasárnap délelőtt. A foglalkozások körülbelül 2-2,5 órásak. A csoport létszáma változik, de több korosztály képviselteti magát. Igyekszünk egyre több embert elérni, de a távolságok és egyéb elfoglaltságok miatt ez sokszor nehézkes. Egyre több kisgyerekkel is találkozunk, ami nagy öröm számomra. A nyelvórák ingyenesek. A résztvevőktől csupán annyit kérünk, ha tehetik, támogassák a Dél-Afrikai Magyar Szövetséget azzal, hogy tagokká válnak és fizetik a tagdíjat. A következő nyelvórák időpontjait általában a Facebook oldalunkon teszem közzé, illetve whatsappon tájékoztatom az érdeklődőket.
Az órák kötetlen hangulatúak, szinte, mint egy baráti társaság. Igyekszem érdekességekről beszélni, és ehhez nyelvtani ismeretet kapcsolni. Mindig igyekszem a dolgokat kreatívan megközelíteni, hiszen a magyar nyelv az egyik legnehezebb a világon.
A könyvtárrendezés kapcsán kialakítottunk egy tanulósarkot, könyvekkel, táblával, ahol kényelmesebben lehet a nyelvórákon részt venni.
Azt is látnunk kell, és meg kell értenünk, hogy a résztvevőknek ugyan nagyon fontos a magyar identitásuk megőrzése a nyelvtanuláson keresztül, de sokaknak ez már a harmadik nyelvük, és bizony nem tudnak ezzel minden nap foglalkozni. Kéthetente két óra nem olyan sok mindenre elég. Sokszor a résztvevők nem is magyarok, házastársuk miatt jönnek és tanulnak magyarul. Nagyon hálásak vagyunk mindenkinek, aki a magyar nyelvet szeretné tanulni.

The reason why we joined (My Pappy and myself) the Hungarian lessons, was to improve our Hungarian, however it has become alot more than just showing up and being taught. I find it an interactive group, where we all get to pratice what is being taught, it is fun, entertaining and most of all we are learning. I look forward to our lessons, as we have made great friends, with the same mindset towards the Hungarian language. Rita does a fantastic job, with making the lessons interesting and varied everytime, so that we do not get bored or lost with the translations. Life is full of unexpected surprises. I was presented with a real surprise when I came across a post on the Facebook Page of the Hungarian Alliance that stated “Hungarian lessons at the Hungarian Alliance”. I was filled with excitement as throughout my childhood I loved the elements of the Hungarian culture that my mom gracefully embraced. My recent visit to Hungary was the turning point in my life where I decided to fully embrace my Eastern European roots. I decided to engage in the bi-weekly lessons and have not looked back. Attending the lessons has been one of the greatest, most rewarding experiences that I have ever had! I have learnt vast amounts of the Hungarian vernacular and have gained self confidence in my communication with fellow Hungarian citizens. There were many times where I thought that I would not be able to grasp the content but with the kind caring and supportive education delivered by Rita Janjetich I have been able to achieve my goal of learning the language I so eagerly wanted to master. I am blown away by the warmth, friendliness and welcoming nature of the Hungarians residing in South Africa. I am proud to be part of the Hungarian Alliance of South Africa. – Kelly Benczik

„After circulating valuable learning material electronically, the foundation was laid down, 44 letters of the Hungarian alphabet and the correct pronunciation thereof.Thereafter the fun began, and the learners were exposed to the conjugation of verbs, grammar and the extension of vocabulary. The lessons were structured, practical and encompassed everyday situations. Interesting facts on Hungary as a country, famous persons, traditions and celebrations were conveyed, including the words of the "Himnusz". The need was identified that the younger generation be exposed to Hungarian language and culture and a kiddies corner has been created. The library is being revived.” –Estelle Zsigmond
